For updates of current epidemiological data on community ear nose throat (ENT) diseases, the authors conducted endoscopic examination on 325 school children of the Cam Gia Primary School in Thai Nguyen city. The authors found a high incidence of ENT diseases (63.7 percent), mainly throat diseases (60.3 percent) followed by middle ear diseases (12.9 percent) and sino-nasal diseases (12.0 percent). In terms of middle ear diseases, otitis media with effusion was seen with the highest incidence (8.0 percent) followed by chronic otitis media with tympanic membrane perforation, tympanic scar, and tympanosclerosis (2.5 percent). Adenoiditis and tonsillitis accounted for (57.7 percent) and (35.4 percent), respectively.
