Objective: To assess the state of knowledge of food hygiene and safety district manager in Thieu Hoa - Thanh Hoa, 2010. Methods: Cross-sectional study design described with a purposeful sample of commune managers. Results: showed that 100 percent of the idea of managers that food hygiene and safety management is really necessary, improvement solutions hygiene and safety including strengthening of local staff management account for 35.0 percent, to raise awareness of consumers educational media used by 31.7 percent, to strengthen the training of knowledge of food hygiene and safety for contact with food accounting for 20.0 percent. Practices involved in the management of food hygiene and safety of local managers: 35.0 percent of the managers involved in scheduled and inspections, 28.3 percent involved only periodically inspection and 36,7 percent involved in scheduled inspection. Research data is a base for interventions plan effecttive1y.
