Method: The authors conducted a cross-sectional study on 1986 workers in five factories and assessed their working environment at Hung Long garment and service joint stook company of Hung Yen province from 2010 to 2011. Findings: 1./ In terms of working environment of Hung Long company: Air temperature and humidity exceeded or were close to the permitted standards, especially in the following section: Workshop V (~32. 71°C and 83.58 percent). 6 out of 10 workshops had the lower lightning condition than the permitted standards and the lowest score of ~410 lux was taken in the workshop II. The dust, noise and toxic vapors result qre all under the permitted standards. 2./ Workers who are healthy enough to work (health grade of category I, II, III) accounted for about: 93.69 percent. Although the number of workers with type IV and V were low (5.38 percent and 0.93 percent), they must received more attention. Workers had many common diseases, with odonto-stomatology conditions accounted for the highest percentage (63.6 percent), followed by ENT diseases (21.7 percent), gastrointestinal (9.0 percent), and gynecological diseases among women (61.0 percent)... The resarch found no cases of occupational diseases among workers who got the medical checkup. Recommendations: - To reduce and eliminate immediately some harmful conditions in professional workshops such as heat, humidity and light. They should improved ventilation and lightning system. - Workers with type IV and V of health should be sent to specialists for examination and treatment.
