A total of 1,848 stool samples were collected from 6 communes of 6 districts in three provinces of Quang Nam, Phu Yen and Dak Lak. The samples were examined using the Kato-Katz technique and the results found the overall infection of soil-transmitted helminthiasis (STH) was from 11.11- 24.71 percent, at mild intensities. Among which, the infection rates of hookworms, hairworms and ascarids ranged from 7.51-24.22 percent, 0.32-1.12 percent, and 0.16-3.26 percent, respectively. The infection rates of STH in men and women were of no significant difference.
