The study was conducted in two tea-growing communes of Thai Nguyen province including Hoa Binh commune - Dong Hy district and La Bang commune - Dai Tu district. Objective: To describe current status of injury accident in labors of tea production in Thai Nguyen. Study method: Using a descriptive study, cross-sectional design with a sample size of 1,337 tea growing households (including 4,145 subjects aged or = 15 years) selected by stratified sampling according to proportional probability. Heads of households were interviewed about injury accidents occurring in their family members during one year and calculated rate of injury in 1000 populations at risk. Result and conclusion: Rate of non-fatal to injuries caused by tea production was 15.9 percent0, in which this rate in women (16.7 percent0) higher than that in men (13,6 percent0) and the highest in age group of 35-44 (24.8 percent0). Injuries occurred at all stages of tea production, but the most common stages of care (39.7 percent), harvesting (20.6 percent) and transportation (12.7 percent). Leading cause of injuries for tea plantation workers was due to sharp objects (38.1 percent), followed by poisoning (17.5 percent), falls (17.5 percent) and heatstroke (11.1 percent).
