Horisontal linkages of shrimps and paganasius producers were made through fonnal/infonnal cooperatives, clubs. It mainly focused on supply of variety, food, medicine, and consumption. These fonns of linkages helped producers reduce the costs of 5-7 percent. Horisontal linkages of processing factories were mainly their participation in national associations (i.e. VASEP - Vietnam Assocciation of Seafood Exporters and Producers) and provincial fishery associations. Vertical linkages were fonned for: deferred payments for food, food investment - consumption. The results showed that several limited factors of vertical linkage were: transportation, techniques, seasons, product characteristics, business behaviors, intennediaries' supports, investment capitals, and price risk. Vertical linkages were useful for production scope, productivity
and accreditation standards of food safety. To strengthen linkages of production, consumption of shrimps and paganasius, solutions should be given to: Support to infonnal/fonnal co-operatives of shrimps and paganasius
stricter control of food safety
enhanced support of relevant organizations
credit support to fonnal cooperatives for infrastructure development, application of accreditation standards of food safety, contracts of investment and consumption between cooperatives and enterprises.
