Objective: Assess the value of Ultrasoundguided Fine-Needle Aspiration (U5-FNA) in the management of thyroid nodules. Patients and methods: 55 patients suffering of thyroid nodules underwent U5-FNA. Prospective cohort study. Results: Benign lesion were 60 percent, malignant lesion: 25,5 percent, suspicious for malignancy: 5,4 percent, samlingerror: 9,1 percent. The sensitivity were 88,9 percent, specificity: 96,9 percent, Positive predictive value: 94 percent, Negative predictive value: 93,9 percent. Conclusion: U5-FNA is simple method, safe, inexpensive, highly diagnostic accuracy in the management of thyroid nodules.
