Objectives: Recent studies have shown that allergic rhinitis (AR) may be associated with asthma. The paper aimed to assess the relationship between AR and asthma in children from 6-15 years old. Materials and methods: Prospective study. percentevaluated 158 patients diagnosed with asthma between June 2011 and June 2012. Results: 65,8 percent children with asthma had AR, among these patients 69,2 percent were mild AR. The incidence of moderate persistent asthma was significantly higher in children with AR (37,5 percent) than without AR (14,0 percent) (p 0,05). percentalso found that the incidence of moderate persistent asthma was significantly higher in children with moderate-severe AR (48,3 percent) than children with mild AR (22,8 percent) (p 0,05). The value of FEV1, FEF25- 75 was significantly lower than in moderate- severe AR than mild AR (91,61 + or - 16,l1) and (71,75 + or - 21,34), p 0,05). Conclusion: the incidence of AR in children with asthma was 65,8 percent, almost children had had AR symptom before they got asthma. There is a direct relationship between asthma and allergic rhinitis in children.
