A formalin-killed vaccine against streptococcosis in barramundi was experimentally produced using the bacterial strain VN091211R isolated from diseased fish in Khanh Hoa province, Vietnam. Results of in-vitro and in-vivo tests showed that the vaccine is safe and produced protection effectiveness to barramundi against Streptococcus iniae infection with RPP ranging from 79-86 percent depend on intensity of the challenging dose. For commercialization of the experimental vaccine, a study on protection period and measurements to improve the immune response of the fish is needed.
