Objectives: This study was conducted to assess the nutritional status and characteristics related to malnutrition in minority Thai's children under five years in Nghe An province, Vietnam. Study Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted among fourumother-child pairs in Qui Hop - Nghe An, Vietnam. Weight and height of the children were measured and referred to data from the WHO/CDC/NCHS. Results: The prevalence of underweight, stunting and wasting was 39.8 percent, 48.6 percent, 8.8 percent, respectively. The incidence of diarrhea and acute respiratory infections (ARls) during the last 14 days of the interview was 12.2 percent and 20.2 percent, respectively. Although 99 percent of the children were breastfed, the prevalence of exclusive. Conclusion: Undernutrition is highly prevalent in the study site and non-exclusive breast feeding is one of the risk factors.
