Objective: The study aims to assess general nutritional status as well as micronutrient status (iron, zinc, vitamin A) of pregnant mothers in the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Hanoi, Vietnam. Methodology: a descriptive study with an across-sectional survey in ,1000 pregnant mothers. Results: pregnant mothers has average of weight is 49.6kg. Increase in weight in average is 13.3kg for the whole gestation. Average of height is 155.1cm. Prevalence of anemia is 9.3 percent, prevalence of low serum ferritin is 30 percent, low serum retinol is 13.8 percent and low serum zinc is 61.4 percent. Conclusion: nutrition status of preg. mothers before conceive in the hospital in period of 2008-2010 having high in prevalence of low weight compare to the nation. But during pregnancy having high prevalence of recommended weight gain in compare to the whole country. Anemia prevalence is quite low, serum ferritin is improved clearly in compare to another study in the hospital in 10 years before, low serum vitamin A and low serum zinc are quite high in compare to other place of Vietnam.
