In the present work, glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with conducting polymers poly(1,8-diaminonaphtalene) (p(1,8-DAN)) was electrosynthesized in aqueous acid solution by potentiostatic technique. The modified electrode was developed for the determination of Ag+ by square wave anodic stripping voltammetry (SWASV). The p(1,8-DAN)/GCE exhibited a significantly increased sensitivity for Ag+ compared with a bare GCE. Under the optimum conditions, a linear calibration graph was obtained in the concentration range of 0.108 to 2.70 ppm with a correlation coefficient of 0.9936.
