Nanostructured perovskite-type PrMnO3 oxide were prepared by the combustion method using polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and corresponding metal nitrates. Factors affecting on phase perovskite of PrMnO3 such as the pH of solution, temperature of gel formation, moles ratio of metal and polyvinyl alcohol concentrations temperature of calcinating have been investigated. Samples were characterized by thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis (TG-DTA), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and BET (Brunaure-Emmet-Teller) measurements. The results show that perovskite phase is formed at 750°C. Sample synthesized under optimal conditions has nanostructure with large specific area (20.5 m2/g)
