Fe/MgO material with loaded Fe3+ content of 6-30 wt percent was obtained by wet impregnation technique using Fe(NO3), commercial MgO and MgO preparing from two precursors of MgC2O4 and Mg(OH)2. The products were characterized by X-ray diffraction, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX). The material characterization results indicated that Fe was well dispersed in MgO support. In comparison to commercial MgO, prepared MgO samples are more suitable to synthesize Fe/MgO.
