Objective. to determine the prevelence of transmitted blood diseases in the blood donners in Haiphong,2008-2011. Method: restrospective descriptive study in 40 168 blood donners at Haiphong Center of Hematology and Blood Transfusion from 2008 to 2011. Screening of transmitted blood disseases is followed MOH respective guidline. The authors used EPIINFO 6.04, Open Epi 3.2.1 software, X2 test to analyse data. Result The study found 5.8 percent positive rapid test for HbsAg in blood donners at first time
0.1 percent of HIV
2.3 percent of HBsAg
0.4 percent of anti HCV
0.1 percent of sylphilis in the commercial blood donnors, not in the volunteers. Conclusion: the prevalence of HbsAg markers is high in the blood donnors 5.8 percent by rapid test, 2.3 percent by EIA test, 0.4 percent of anti HCV, 0.1 percent of HIV. The study need to check the accuracy of the laboratory used for hepatitis testting of blood don nor to be safe, adequate, facilitate for blood donnors.
