Geographic Information System (GIS) has many applications in the areas of basic research evaluation. The paper introduces the application of GIS technology as a tool for assessing the ecological adaptation of Amomum Armaticum in bioclimatic conditions. The research is carried out in Lao Cai province - a mountainous province in the north of Vietnam. The initial research results show the differences of the adaptability of Amomum Armaticum in different bioc1imatic zones. The combination of the obtained results with general diffement assessments and evaluations is convenient for the orientation and planning of suitable crops.
