A Cross-sectional study was carried out to evaluate the current situation and the role of microscopic points in malaria control activities in the Southern region - Lam Dong. The results showed that 78.76 percent of the microscopic points were located at conununalldistrict medical aid posts
5.79 percent at regional clinics/provincial hospitals and 15.45 percent at health centers of the districts and provinces. 88.28 percent of the microscopic points were active. 82.86 percent of microscopic points points had only one examiner. 48.71 percent of the examiners were qualified as physicians and 14.29 percent were technicians. The time duration for parasitic malaria examination training below 3 months accounted for 76.71 percent. A direct survey at 39 microscopic points produced the results as follows: Response time for displaying results below 1 hour was 38.46 percent, from 1-2 hours was 30.77 percent, over 2 hours was 30.77 percent. The average number of tests of a malaria patient who was treated and examined once at microscopic points was 51.43 percent, twice and more was 48.57 percent. 74.36 percent of the microscopic points actively took slide examination, 97.44 percent sent slides to the higher level and 91.67 percent made a response to slide check for the lower level. Response time for displaying test results of microscopic points to the lower level was 10.26 percent (for response time below 1 day), 33.33 percent (for response time from 2-3 days), and 56.41 percent (for response time above 3 days).
