The research was performed for the assesement of the role of NGAL in the prognosis of AKI in PICU. 305 severse pediatric patients, from 1 month to 18 years olds, who were treated in ICU, NHP from April/2010 to November/2010. The results shown that 240/305 patients had AKI, acount for 78.8 percent. Rmax: 87/240 patients (36.3 percent), Imax:104/240 patients (43.3 percent) and Fmax: 49/240 patients (20.4 percent). At 24 first hours of admision: urine NGAL level of AKI group was 1045.3 ng/ml and control group was 38.9ng/ml (p0.001), urine NGAL level increased follow up the severe grade of AKI (Rmax: 564.7ng/ml, Imax 981.2ng/ml and Fmax 2172.1ng/ml). Urine NGAL level in AKI group decreased after AKI recoved (655.6ng/ml), death AKI group had urine NGAL level higher 1.99 times compere to living AKI group (p 0.01). The conclusions that urine NGAL was value biomarker for prognosis of AKI in severe patients who was treated in PICU.
