The French and the Vietnamese differ in cultures, so their conceptions of the rank in personal relations differ sharply. The French use short false questions in all of their relations and they do not use false questions with no subjects whereas there are many social classes and social hierarchies in Vietnam, which complicates the personal relations. That is the reason why Vietnamese people often consider each word or sentence carefully when they speak. Short false questions and non-subject false questions are usually perceived in equal relations and relations with high-low ranks. This article focuses on comparison between the uses of false questions in communicative language of the French and the Vietnamese.
