Originally worship oration is a functional literary genre used to be read in the sacred ceremonies to thank saints, months and years, harvests or in funerals. Later, worship oration developed into a special literary genre in Vietnam to praise a dead person (though some are to worship living people). As its content is associated with human emotion and spirit due to easily changing life and forever separation from beloved ones, worship oration is much influenced from the Buddhist philosophy. In the article, we would like to particularly present two major respects of impermanence in the Han Nom oration: 1. The image of impermanence, including methods and means to convey the issue of impermanence
2. The meaning of impermanence, consisting of three points: showing the changing life, showing the death and showing the desire to exist forever. The article helps readers partly realize the rule of life and death as well as the level of Buddhist influence on cultural and spiritual activitives of the ancient.
