FFA-free fatty acids are important index for abnormalities of lipid metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Some studies suggested that the composition and concentration of plasma FFAs influenced insulin sensitivity and mediated impaired glucosetolerance. In this research, the authors initially evaluate the change in the composition of plasma FFAs in a group of patients compared to a control group and outline further studies on lipid metabolism and fatty acids.
