Objective: To study typical atelectatic symptoms and to evaluate treatments. Study design: Prospective, analysis of preoperative and postoperative results. Patients: The authors studied 86 cases with Atelectasis. Intervention: treatment modalities include politzeriration, insertion of ventilation tubes with and without tympanoplasty. Results: Treatment politzeration therapy and insertion of ventilation tube have improved symptoms and hearing loss for the patients with atelectasis. Conclusion: politzeration therapy that can be safely and successfully restore the function of the middle ear in patients with atelectasis. Only insertion of ventilation tube when politzeration therapy was failure.
