In the 1920s, the theory of hypothesis testing was developed by Jerzy Neyman and Egon Pearson and the theory behind p-value was developed by Ronald Fisher. These theories have provided important quantitative tools to confirm or refute hypotheses. In this paper, the author presents the basis knowledge behind the p - value and hypothesis testing and examples of use for each theory.
