Dong Van Plateau is the northernmost region of Vietnam, including 4 districts of Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac, Ha Giang province, with an area of over 2.350km2. In this area there are many valuable geological landforms with complex geological structure and diverse types of unique terrain. With the large distribution of limestone, the Karst terrain is also popular. It is a very meaningful landform in terms of tourism landscape. By far, the study of Karst and caves combine with seeking water in Dong Van plateau is interested by scientists. From 2003 to now, some landform surveys are fulfilled by some Vietnamese scientists cooperated with some European experts. Recently, by fieldwork researching in Dong Van Plateau, the authors have added some results research on Karst in Dong Van plateau and identified a number of factors affecting terrain of Karst.
