This paper evaluated the levels of air pollution by the parameters TPS, SO2, CO in Dai Tu district, Thai Nguyen province. The results were based on monitoring data in the field and the formula according to WHO guidelines (1982). The simulation process spread of pollutants had been done by Meti-lis 2.03 model. The results indicated that motor vehicles is the main traffic in Dai Tu, hence the total amount of TSP, CO, SO2 arising from motorcycle is the biggest. According to the simulation results in Dai Tu district, the air environment is polluted by TSP and CO. The CO values in the Ha Thuong and Nui Phao areas in the winter and summer are 7 to 8 times higher than QCVN 05:2013 (National technical regulation on ambient air quality of Vietnam)
The TSP values in Hung Ha and Thuong Son areas are 1.7-1.8 times higher than QCVN 05:2013 in these two seasons too. The SO2 values in the study area remained within permissible limits. To control and protect the air environment at research areas, the authors should incorporate different policy, legal, technological, economic and environmental solutions.
