This paper presents the strategy of designing, using mind maps in teaching and assessing students' understanding about spatial geometry. Research findings show that mind maps could support teachers to systematize basic knowledge based upon different point of views about geometry in high school. As a result, the students know how to take notes, investigate and expand their ideas in solving spatial geometric problems. Furthermore, the teachers could analyze, evaluate students' ideas of solving problems based on their own mind maps. This analysis also helps the teachers to propose some supporting strategies which provide the students with core knowledge and skills.
