It is important that employees be competent in their work in order to be valuable employees and meet labor market needs. In Vietnam there is abundant manpower and if they could function as high quality employees they would have a competitive advantage. Employees can learn professionalism only through training. However, access to training is limited. After analyzing the manpower carrying capacity and vocational training situation, the authors propose a number of measures that would improve the quality of vocational training to better meet the need for skilled human resources in Vietnam.
