Self-assessment is a valuation of oneself which reflects a rather high stage of development of an individual's consciousness. In the context of the rapid changes which are taking place today, the education of teens should include to ability to self-assess. This article presents an overview of the nature, role and significance, and the structural components of psychological and theoretical models of self-assessment among teenagers. The article also presents the status of the field youth self-assessment.
