Objective: Study on some of the clinical and sub-clinical features in the patients with common bile duct stones. The article conducted the study on value of endoscopic ultrasonography in the diagnosis of common bile duct stones. Subject and method: 25 patients were diagnosed bile duct stones, inpatient in the gastroenterology department of 108 Military Central Hospital, studies comparing the value of endoscopic ultrasonography in the diagnosis of common bile duct stones with one of the other methods. Result: Right upper quadrant pain, fever and jaundice were common sympton4s of biliary obstruction with the rate of 84 percent, 48 percent and 52 percent respectively. The rates of patients with increased bilirubin, GOT, GPT and GGT were 76 percent, 68 percent, 72 percent and 100 percent respectively. Endoscopic ultrasound detected distal common bile duct stones in 2/25 patients that MRI missed. Conclusion: Endoscopic ultrasound is a valuable method in the diagnosis of common bile duct stones, especially in cases of distal common bile duct stones.
