 Objective: To compare variation of some parameters of myocardial Tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI) in normal people and patients with myocardial ischemia. Study conducting to evaluate the correlation between the parameters of TDI and conventional echocardiography. Subject and method: Studying 53 normal people and 52 patients with ischemic heart disease by 2D ultrasound, transmitral Doppler and TDI. Then compare the parameters of conventional echocardiography and TDI between normal people and patients with myocardial ischemia. Result: the authors found increased Tei index and prolonged isovolumic relaxation time (lVRT) in the patient group compared with the control (0.49 +/- 0.11 vs 0.40 +/- 0.10 and 105.3 +/- 17.1 ms vs 90.3 +/- 14ms, respectively). The change of other parameters was not significant (p0.05) on the 2D ultrasound and transmitral Doppler. However, on TDI, there were significant decrease of systolic myocardial peak velocity (Sm), early diastolic myocardial peak velocity (Em), and significant increase of Tei-m index in group with ischemic heart disease compared with normal people (Sm= 6.34 +/- 2.53 and 6.89 +/- 2.45 cm/s vs 8.3 +/- 2.18 and 9.0 +/- 1.78 cm/s
  Em= 7.19 +/- 2.75 and 7.04 +/- 2.59 cm/s vs 9.7 +/- 2.54 and 10.3 +/- 2.55 cm/s
  Tei-m = 0.54 +/- 0.09 and 0.56 +/- 0.09 vs 0.48 +/- 0.09, respectively). At the same time, there was a strong correlation (r= 0.66 - 0.71) between the EF on 2D ultrasound with transmitral Sm and Tei indexes with Tei-m index at mitral ring in both study groups. Conclusion: On TDI, there were significant decreases of systolic myocardial peak velocity, of early diastolic myocardial peak velocity, significant increase of Tei-m index patients with ischemic heart disease when compared with normal people. At the same time, there was a strong correlation between the EF on 2D ultrasound with transmitral Sm and Tei indexes, with Tei-m index at mitral ring in both study groups.
