Purpose: To survey some risk factors, HPV in the squamous cell carcinoma of tonsil. Subjects and Methods: 20 patients were diagnosed the squamous cell carcinoma of tonsil from 1/2012 - 7/2014 at the ENT National Hospital, have tested the Real-Time PCR quantitative and HPV types. Researching descriptive statistics. Results: Prevalence of smoking and drinking alcohol: 80 percent. HPV positive : 55 percent. low-risk group: 9 patients with type 11, no patients with type 6. High-risk group: 1 patients with 16 type, 1 patients with 18 type. Detecting the type 51 and type 81. 5 patients multi-types infections, 6 patients single type infection. rough lesions are common. Conclusion: HPV positive: 55 percent, types HPV: 11,16,18,51,81. Smoking, drinking alcohol and HPV are important risk factors in cancer of the mouth and throat. Suspected cases should be indentified HPV, especially HPV 16 to detect early lesions and having good treatment.
