During 7 months of gathering information from the fisheries management agencies and 120 giant freshwater prawn farmers in the rice fields of the 03 communes in Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province to assess the situation and develop sustainable solutions giant freshwater prawn farming in rice fields. The results show: The size area was between 0.2 - 3.0 ha. Most farmers fully implemented the technical measures such as removal of impurities and pumping mud improvement during rice farming. Stocking seasons focus from April to June. Stocking density of 2.3 +/- 1.2 pieces/ml. Dosage, composition and timing of use of each type of food during feeding are very different between the farmers. The survival rate after 06 months of shrimp farming is relatively low 22.6 +/- 14.0 percent, harvest size from 33.5 +/- 5.0 g/shirmp, the average yield was 0.14 +/- 0.19 tons/farmer/year. Rice fields of sustainable development solutions should be selected farms average area of farm 0.5 ha and correct improvement process before stocking. Stocking season was from April to June, shrimp were reared stocking and the stocking density of 03 shrimp/m2. Feeding was the food industry, processed foods and fresh foods.
