Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the effects of different diets and feeding rates on growth of juvenile golden rabbit fish. In the first experiment, the fish (0.22 g/individual) was randomly distributed to fifteen tanks (30 L/tank) with stocking rate was 4 fish per tank. Fish were fed 5 different diets including Lansy + BS
NRD 3/5
Red Flake
Dried algae and Lansy with triplicates per each treatment. Results pointed out that the golden rabbit fish fed NRD 3/5 diet showed the highest weight and length and had significant differences with that offish fed other diets (P 0.05). No significant differences on final weight and length of fish fed Lansy diet and Lansy + BS. In the second one, fish was fed NRD 3/5 diet with five feeding rates (6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 percent wet body weight). Results indicated that the golden rabbit fish fed 14 percent of feeding rate showed the highest growth rate and had significant difference with other fish fed lower feeding rates (P 0.05). The increasing of feeding rate from 6 to 12 percent did not significantly effect on the final weight of juvenile fish (P 0.05). Thus, the using of NRD 3/5 diet with feeding rate at 14 percent wet body weight are suitable for the growth of juvenile golden rabbit fish.
