Objective: to investigate the sources of information, education and communication (lEC) that provided information on leprosy and define forms of IEC that need to be strengthened in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan, 2012. Method: cross-sectional study. Results: The most common form of IEC on leprosy information that needs to be provided in Khanh Hoa were health staffs (70.2 percent), followed by TV (64.2 percent) and leaflets (52.8 percent). Meanwhile, in Ninh Thuan, these rates were TV (72.9 percent), followed by radio and leaflets (34.6 percent, 34.6 percent). The information people understand the most was from TV, medical staff (69.0 percent and 55.1 percent). Most of people in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan wished to receive more IEC about leprosy (96.6 percent, 84.4 percent), especially from TV and health staffs (78.7 percent and 66.2 percent). Conclusion: People in Khanh Hoa, Ninh Thuan found that health staff and TV were the most effective forms of IEC on leprosy and they wished to receive more IEC on leprosy from these forms.
