Sulfamethoxazole (SMX) is a frequently detected antibiotic in groundwater, raising environmental concerns. Persulfate oxidation is used for micropollutant removal. To investigate SMX transformation by persulfate, experiments were conducted using heat-activated persulfate at pH 3, 7, and 10.
