OBJECTIVE: The relationship between iron metabolism disturbances and metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) remains controversial. This study aimed to investigate the association of iron overload with MAFLD in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). METHODS: This study included 155 Chinese inpatients with T2DM. MAFLD was diagnosed and grouped using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
