Gold nanorods (AuNRs) have become promising as radiosensitizers and photoacoustic (PA) imaging agents due to their strong X-ray attenuation ability and adjustable near-infrared (NIR) absorption. However, there remains room to further improve AuNRs for the imaging and treatment of tumors. We developed a biomarker responsive AuNR-based Janus nanoprobe by integrating MnO
