Interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) is a poorly understood and underdiagnosed syndrome of chronic bladder/pelvic pain with urinary frequency and urgency. Though IC/BPS can be hereditary, little is known of its genetic etiology.
