In this study, catfish fat, which is considered a by-product, is utilized to produce the bio-based oil. Catfish fat is processed and purified. During these processes, impurities such as hyd-rophilic compounds, gum, and wax are removed. The study’s results show that the specific properties of refined catfish oil meet the quality requirements of mineral base oils (SN150 and SN500). As a result, refined catfish oil can replace petroleum-based oil to better protect the environment.Nghiên cứu đã tận dụng nguồn phụ phẩm mỡ cá tra sản xuất dầu gốc sinh học. Mõ cá tra được xử lý, tinh chế, loại bỏ các tạp chất háo nước, keo, nhựa và sáp. Các kết quả phân tích cho thấy, các tính chất cơ bản của sản phẩm dầu cá tra tinh chế đã đáp ứng được theo tiêu chuẩn chất lượng của dầu gốc khoáng SN150, SN500. Kết quả quá trình sản xuất đã sử dụng phụ phẩm mỡ cá tra thay thế nguyên liệu dầu mỏ và sản phẩm thu được vừa có khả năng sử dụng thay thế dầu gốc khoáng vừa có tính thân thiện với môi trường.
